Celebrate Black History Month in Salisbury

Built in 1838, the Chipman Cultural Center is the oldest standing African-American church on Delmarva. It occupies the site of a former open meadow where slaves gathered for worship services conducted by Methodist circuit riders, and has served as a church and day school since its construction. Today, the Chipman Cultural Center provides educational displays and cultural events that highlight Wicomico County's rich African American Heritage. After touring this unique facility, be sure to visit the downtown Salisbury's unique shops and restaurants, located just a few blocks away!

For more information, call 410-860-9290. The Chipman Cultural Center is located at 321 Broad Street in Salisbury, Maryland.

Inaugural Easter Shore Regional Poker Classic

Registration is underway now for the inaugural Eastern Shore Regional Poker Classic. The no-limit Texas Hold 'Em event will benefit the Friends of Recreation and Parks' Tomorrow Fund which provides scholarships to underprivileged families in our area so that they can participate in after-school and summer programs.
