Eight fun Halloween events happening this month in Wicomico

Halloween is right around the corner, and there's a lot going on in Wicomico County. Here are some of the fun events that are happening this month, in chronological order. 

Halloween events at the Salisbury Zoo: The Salisbury Zoo's first Halloween-themed event is the Sensory-Friendly Spooktacular Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 5-6:30 p.m. It features games, animals and trick-or-treating. The Not So Scary Halloween Happening, set for Saturday, Oct. 15, and Saturday, Oct. 22, from 1-4 p.m. also features games, animals and trick-or-treating, along with a Halloween costume runway and family costume contest. Octoberfest: Head to Wright's Market in Mardela Springs for Octoberfest on the following Saturdays: Oct. 8, 15, 22 and 29. Among the featured activities are zip lines, a corn maze, a petting zoo and a pumpkin bounce pad. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Learn more. 

Delmarva Shorebirds Halloween Movie Night with Trick or Treating on the Concourse: Families can head to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury on Saturday, Oct. 22, for this event. Trick-or-treating begins at 5 p.m. with the "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" movie beginning at 6:30 p.m. Learn more and buy tickets.

Fall Fest & Trunk-or-Treat: Wicomico County Recreation & Parks and Funny Farm Petting Zoo have combined forces to host this new event, happening Sunday, Oct. 23, from 4-8 p.m. at Pemberton Historical Park in Salisbury. This free event features a vendor fair, petting zoo, pony rides, bounce house, hay maze, pumpkin patch, photo op, music, games and food trucks. Learn more.

Halloween events at Poplar Hill Mansion: Poplar Hill Mansion offers the Halloween Party for adults on Friday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. Attendees are invited to dress in costume and enjoy dancing, games and paranormal storytelling with Andy Nunez. The next day, Saturday, Oct. 29, features the Jack o' Lantern Jubilee for kids, which includes games, pumpkin painting and a costume parade. Later that evening is "Edgar Allan Poe: Master of Terror," in which the Community Players of Salisbury will present word-for-word telling of Poe's stories. Learn more about these events here. 

You can also pick out a pumpkin at one of the many farm stands in Wicomico County. Adkins Farm Market in Salisbury features a corn maze, too. If you're hosting an event that may attract tourists and want to add it to our calendar, you can do so here.
