Maryland Folk Festival

The Maryland Folk Festival takes place in Downtown Salisbury from Friday-Sunday, Sept. 22-24. Admission is free. This large-scale outdoor event celebrates the roots, richness and variety of American culture. Experience wide array of music spanning from polka to bluegrass to go-go and more. Learn about all kinds of living traditions, from storytelling to spoken word. Shop at the festival marketplace, eat delicious food with an adult beverage. Kids can participate in hands-on crafts, quiet games, active games and creative learning activities.

Delmarva Chicken Festival

The Delmarva Chicken Association is bringing back the Delmarva Chicken Festival - for one year only - on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury. The event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the meat-chicken industry food vendors, an open air marketplace, kids activities, a "Walk Through History" tent, baby chicks and two stages of programming.

Good Beer Festival

Wicomico County’s Good Beer Festival returns to Pemberton Park in Salisbury on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 13-14. The annual event offers unlimited tastings of craft and domestic brews, ciders and seltzers; music; games; food; and peddlers of crafty and unique items. Friday is the only nighttime beer festival on the Eastern Shore.

Can’t make it to the Good Beer Festival but love local beer and wine? You can visit Evolution Craft Brewing Co., Burnish Beer Co., Gateway Craft Brewing or Bordeleau Vineyards & Winery any time.

Follow up your beer and wine tastings with some regional food. Can’t decide where to go? The Salisbury Foodie Tour allows attendees the opportunity to walk between several Downtown Salisbury restaurants, enjoy a tasting at each, and learn about Salisbury and its history. Check ocfoodietour.com for the schedule and to book your tour.

See the leaves change colors on Wicomico County’s nature trails. Our favorites are Pemberton Historical Park, WinterPlace Park and Naylor Mill Forest.
