Nicole Wheatley - March 25, 2024

Mt. Hermon Plow Days is an annual family-friendly event that centers around showcasing early methods of agriculture. Farming with horses was a way of life until tractors became more common in the 1940s. Prior to then, the horse was more than a family pet - it was a valuable asset.

Plow Days allows attendees to step back in time, watch horses and mules plow the land and breathe the smell of freshly turned dirt.

This year's Plow Days is Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Adkins Farm Market (31493 Mt Hermon Rd) in Salisbury. The event features livestock exhibits, hands-on plow demonstrations, horse-powered corn shelling demonstrations, antique equipment displays, live music and food and craft vendors. Admission and parking are free.
