We can still honor the #SpiritofTravel even when we can't take a vacation.
During National Travel and Tourism Week, which takes place May 3-9, we're joining with the U.S. Travel Association and destinations across the country to celebrate our industry.
Here are a few ways you can celebrate with us:
Join us for the #VirtualRoadTrip on Twitter on May 5. We'll be following along with the U.S. Travel Association Twitter account,
@USTravel, on the virtual "trip" that will take Twitter followers
into every U.S. state, along with Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, on May 5. The first stop will be at 9 a.m. Eastern Time, and the last stop will
be at 9 p.m.
Maryland is the second stop, at 9:15 a.m. Be sure to tune in from 9:15-9:30 a.m. and throughout the day to learn about other areas and answer questions. Our Twitter handle is @FunWicomico. Learn more about the #VirtualRoadTrip — and find us on the map — here.
Support your favorite Wicomico County businesses and attractions. You can support your favorite Wicomico County spots even if you don't
live here. Consider donating to your favorite attraction online or ordering a gift card to a local restaurant or shop. For those who live in town,
continue to support your go-to places. You can also help out local organizations and businesses by liking and sharing social media pages and posts.
Share your favorite Wicomico County memories. Have you enjoyed a trip to Wicomico County or have fond memories of an attraction or scenic spot? Share photos on social media using the hashtags #FunWicomico, #SpiritofTravel and #NTTW20.
Engage with us this week on social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) as we share scenes from Wicomico County and ask questions about your favorite places to visit. You can also visit our "Home Activities" Instagram story highlight for bingo, a Wicomico County quiz and interactive stories to fill out and share. Tag us at @wicomicocountymd — we'd love to share your responses.
