For International Museum Day, experience Wicomico's museums virtually

Vanessa Junkin - Monday, May 18, 2020

Today is International Museum Day, and while museums in Wicomico County are closed because of the coronavirus, you can still experience some aspects of local museums virtually.

The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art is offering gallery tour videos; Drop in Art, Jr. videos with crafts; photos; and articles on its Facebook page. 47ABC recently highlighted the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art's virtual offerings: Watch the news video here.

The museum's Art in Nature Photo Festival will be held virtually this year from July 10-12. The Ward Museum also offers a Virtual Learning Resource Center on its website.

The Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History & Culture, located on Salisbury University's campus, has two online exhibits that can be viewed on this exhibit page: Friends & Rivals: Baseball on Delmarva and Not Just a Pretty Face.

The Nabb Center has also been sharing historic photos and photo albums on its Facebook page

We mentioned Salisbury University Art Galleries' virtual tours in a previous blog post, and in addition to the tours and photos the galleries have shared on Facebook, SUAG is also accepting work for an online show titled HERE/NOT HERE.

Enjoy International Museum Day, and take a moment to learn or appreciate something new today.
